To kick off June and the incoming hot weather go explore Oyama! Tucked between Kalmalka Lake and Wood Lake & packed with local-run businesses, it’s the perfect place to spend a day exploring with your friends.

To start off the day, drive up the Oyama Service road off of HWY97 to the Oyama Lookout where you can enjoy views of sweeping vistas. Once your back down the hill, pull your bikes out or rent one from Pedego and soar along the trail around Wood Lake. There are plenty of mini beaches spread out all around where your group can park up, go for a swim, paddle board, or set up a picnic! There’s even a dog-friendly, gated portion of the beach so no need to leave your fur-baby at home! Need food, snacks, or craving some craft beer and local wine? Within seconds from the Trail, you’ll pass numerous tasty stops! OKF grill has some of the best ice cream cones and quick & easy baskets of fries; Gatzke’s Market has fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies; and Pane Vino Pizzeria has a large patio where you can have local wine, craft beer, and wood fire pizza! They even offer their pizzas as a quick takeout option which is perfect for sitting on the beach.

Round up your friends and enjoy the Oyama itinerary to make the most of the amazing Okanagan Rail Trail. Don’t forget to tag us in your adventure posts, @okrailtrial #okrailtrail #explorebc
