Let’s Create An Okanagan Legacy
This nearly 50 km level route along spectacular lakeshores, and rural and urban landscapes will appeal to all ages and abilities. The trail will connect our communities, and create a unique legacy for future generations.
The process to convert rails to trails is now underway. CN is concluding their responsibilities to remove rails and ties and complete environmental clean-up.
Local governments of Kelowna, Lake Country, Regional District of the North Okanagan and the Okanagan Indian Band are cooperating to design and build the trail and have approved preliminary plans for the first phase of construction. Community Foundations are prepared to receive donations and provide a tax deductible receipt. Trail construction could begin by spring 2017, if we all come together, get involved and donate now.
