Let’s Create An Okanagan Legacy
Trail Construction is underway! This beautiful corridor is now being transformed into a community legacy. Unfortunately this means there are some trail closures.
Sections of trail along Kal Lake and Wood Lake are now closed at the following locations:
- km markers 20 - 25 until September 29 (along east side of Wood Lake)
- km markers 1.5 - 8 until September 23 (north end of Kal Lake to Kukuli Bay)
Work being completed is in preparation for trail construction. This includes removal of rocks, debris and unwanted vegetation along the trail. Large pieces of equipment will be moving quickly to people are asked to stay off the trail.
Similar work will be completed on other sections of trail later in September and trail construction will begin in October in the North Okanagan, Lake Country and Kelowna so expect more trail closures into the fall. This is great news as we are getting our trail. The construction of the legacy is now underway!
See 'Constructing the Trail' for more details on developing the trail.
The trail will be scheduled to be completed when the final stage of funding is raised. Let’s Finish the Trail!
