Let’s Create An Okanagan Legacy
This nearly 50 km level route along spectacular lakeshores, and rural and urban landscapes provides a scenic and safe route for future trail construction. The trail will appeal to all ages and abilities, connect our communities, and create a unique legacy for future generations.
Development of the trail is now underway. Access control gates are being built and installed, bridge work is underway, and survey and archeology work is undertaken. Stage 1-3 of trail construction have been scheduled for completion for March 2018. When stage 4 is funded, it will also be scheduled and a completed trail will be in sight. Click here for more information on the stages of trail development.
Local governments of Kelowna, Lake Country, Regional District of the North Okanagan and the Okanagan Indian Band are cooperating to develop the trail and the Community Foundations in Vernon and Kelowna can receive donations and provide a tax deductible receipt. The final stage of trail bed construction can be scheduled for completion if we all come together, get involved and donate now.
