An anonymous donor challenged others to donate to the rail trail campaign offering to match donations received July 1-10 to $50,000.
In the first 3 days, the matching campaign brought in 153 donations totalling $32,900, and inspired the anonymous donor to increase the offer to match up to $100,000.
By July 10, the Canada Day matching campaign brought in $225,211 from 876 donors. When the donations exceeded the original $100,000 anonymous pledge, Don and Cathy Archibald jumped in to help.
